  1. I've looked into the two Wizard guides, and sadly they both have some egregious errors (misunderstandings how the game works) that make them very problematic and certainly less than useful.

    1. It will be certain useful if you'd point out such errors.

    2. If you mean the things in the Principia Arcana that have those big red "this may not be accurate" warnings - seems like they've gone out of their way to point it out dude

    3. Whoever posted this has no idea what he is talking about. That foundation in the unknown guide is one of the most comprehensive I've ever seen.

    4. I spent much of the last two hours reading through "Principia Arcana" from end to end. For all of it yet to be completed, it is a comprehensive, well researched and thoughtful guide, which shows incredible attention to detail and design insight.

If there are flaws, they are those of which come from attempting authoritative documentation in a living system. As a sysadmin, I know the pain.

    5. There are 3 Wizard guides now. it would be good to know what ones OP was talking about.

I've only got into Pathfinder 2nd after playing 5E for years where I normally played as a warlock or wizard. Taronodors guide was really good for my spell choices, and P.A really helped me learn how to actually play and understand the wizard. I feel better about doing a roll20 session after having read it.

Wish people made guides like this for things in school, haha

    6. Most of the real problems that the wizard guides had have been addressed in later updates to those guides, so they're in a much better place than at the time OP made their comment. Early guides for 2e in general contained quite a few fundamental rules misunderstandings, assumptions that turned out to be incorrect about how certain things play out in practice, and just a sort of general lack of the actual play experience that would allow somebody to properly evaluate a lot of things. It's totally understandable that it takes time to refine a guide, and some guides that were built on really poor foundations when they were written are now excellent.

  2. RPG Bot Dwarven Ancestry: Dwarven Weapon Familiarity is wrong.

DWF lowers Martial to Simple & Advanced to Martial like all the other Racial Weapon Familiarity feats.

    1. You should let him know there! I don't make the guides, I just link to them.

  3. I mean a lot of RPGBot guides contain mistakes. It's actually not a new trend, and it likely won't change. Perhaps a disclaimer?
Also the Tools section could benefit from a separate header, as it seems to have GM guides still listed under Character Creations.

    1. A lot of guides in general contain mistakes. That's the reality of having things made by fallible humans with their own opinions on whats strong and what isn't. If there should be any disclaimer, it should be one that says to look to multiple guides and form an opinion of your own from there.

  4. You should remove Edna's Guide since it is inaccessible

  5. That Wizard guide is nuts! 2e has been for like 2 months and someone already has a fucking novel on a single class.

    No lifer but props.

  8. RPGBot has been updated with guides for familiars, animal companions, monks, and barbarians

    1. The one about familiars is pretty bad. The section of familiars in the Principia Arcane wizard guide does a much better job.

    2. The RPGBot guides appear to have been written by someone who has never played 2E and is stuck in very much a 1E mindset.

They display significant lack of understanding of the new action system and the new character creations system. For example they are filled with recommendations to "dump" stats. That is pretty much not a thing anymore. You have to really go out of your way to have a stat below 10 and it is nearly always Ancestry dependent.

This is not 1E when "dumping" was better for min maxers because it gained you points back to spend on other stats.

      Delete
    3. Note that if you're playing with a GM who allows taking voluntary flaws, you can take two penalties to net one extra boost, so the min-maxers of the world *can* get points back to spend on other stats...

    1. I like the spell break down in this one, but it doesn't go into nearly as much detail as Principia Arcana. I might print both out and staple them together :P

    2. Haha, I was going to do the same. I like the spell class thing from P.A, it helped me feel less dumb about why some of my spells weren't doing well.
