tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8457309627892248510.post8821359085859870486..comments2024-03-28T10:41:18.080-04:00Comments on Zenith Games: Zenith's Guide to the Alchemist, Part II: DiscoveriesZenithhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05084567670274788805noreply@blogger.comBlogger19125tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8457309627892248510.post-75335064028692049152021-05-03T12:38:46.651-04:002021-05-03T12:38:46.651-04:00So I played multiple alchemists over the years, as...So I played multiple alchemists over the years, as they are my most favourite class in PF.<br />Would like to share this 'tainted infusion' build<br /><br />* Kitsune with the alternate score adjustments (+2dex+2int-2str)<br />* The Realistic Likeness feat @lvl1 (+ the mythic feat from the handbook if able, off course go path of the genius)<br /><br />I sometimes abuse this feat to a point where pc's don't even know the random that joins the group occasionally is actually the same person, and I never tell/show the party I'm a Kitsune race (the players themselves is fine offcourse since that's meta-knowledge)<br />Tell the party your sneaking/scouting ahead or bluff something, and change your form when out of sight<br /><br />* Go for the alchemical sapper archetype (starts with delayed bombs and later gets mines which are a lot of fun)<br />* Take a trait that gives you bluff as a class skill, this is a very important skill for the build.<br />* take the infusion discovery @lvl2 and @lvl3 spend your feat for extra discovery. <br />* Take 'tainted infusion' and let the fun commence.<br /><br />in other words, sneak/disguise yourself into the ranks of the enemy. @lvl3 sleight of hand a delayed bomb into someone's pocket, and bluff another to drink a bomb with tainted infusion<br /><br />Later on it gets even more fun when you can do this by bluffing someone to drink a fly extract to go over the minefield you 'spotted' (prepared) so they will explode after having flight for only 1 round, hopefully mid-air right above your minefield.<br /><br />* As a bonus I'll share this combo when some 3pp is allowed like the forementioned mythic hero's handbook and some other third party stuff.<br />It is a lot of fun by itself, but adds a whole new dimension with realistic likeness<br /><br />suicide bomber feat + suicide bomber mythic feat & Apparent Demise (Su) 6th tier mythic path ability from path of the stranger,<br />so you can blow up and frame a human disguise, and leave a illusion behind of your gear and gibbletsF00Ghttps://tinyurl.com/taintedinfusionnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8457309627892248510.post-34342554283641547172021-03-01T20:14:08.248-05:002021-03-01T20:14:08.248-05:00Very interesting! Probably want to remove the part about "no damage involved" and also note that this applies to Smoke Bombs as well. You need a bow to make it work, either through Grenadier or racial weapon proficiencies, and either marker dye arrows or tangleshot arrows to retain touch, but you can still use regular arrows if it's an easy to hit opponent for a bit more damage. I would rate it orange rather than red, because it can be situationally useful with the right setup. You can use Marker Dye Arrows or Tangleshot Arrows to retain touch, even at long range. You can't use it with Fast Bombs, but it still makes a great sniping tool, especially if you can also stack hybridized flasks with Alchemical Weapon as a Grenadier. You can do some nasty things with that.
