First, an Int-based caster was already going to use their floating stat bonus to improve their intelligence, so for such a character this does *not* replace the Skilled bonus. Instead, a typical int-caster will put their bonus into Dex or Con, the latter of which gives them the equivalent of a feat that's good for them (toughness) and another half of a feat that isn't that great for them (great fortitude) and not a lot else. Which is less than a floating bonus feat and an extra skill point per level, according to Paizo's standard "1 skill point per level = 1 feat" metric.

More generally, Dual Talent will only ever give you a +2 bonus to your *second-favourite* ability score. And it costs you two bonus feats to get it. So for it to be useful, a +2 to your second favourite ability score needs to be worth as much as two feats. I know of few builds on which that would be true. And if that really is true for your build, you'll be better off finding a race which gives +2 to the two important scores, and -2 to a score you don't care about, and gives you some actual racial features.pi4thttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11238269917762435876noreply@blogger.com
