The atmosphere was already getting people excited - well, the arcanist was in a huff over Jacob still, haha.

The skill checks in between fights didn't go so hot, unfortunately. They liked the flavor though! And it all roleplayed out well, so certainly enjoyable! The numbers just felt a bit high.

Amongst the fights, the water and final fights gave the most trouble. THe water because, well, it's water. But the final fight, because people failed their will saves versus the dreaded prisms. No one turned to stone, but tons of damage got loaded on, and they didn't quite get the gimmick at the time.

This was close one - I was honestly worried they'd die in that final fight. But thankfully, the arcanist and crits carried them through - but they burned every resource pulling this off. darrel378https://www.blogger.com/profile/04418105384885472440noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8457309627892248510.post-18654730848710777562016-01-19T16:14:09.748-05:002016-01-19T16:14:09.748-05:00Yup, just the trunks. Draw out the arena, then draw in the first fight. Then erase the first fight and draw in the second fight. You should be able to do it while explaining the next events.

I actually changed up the obstacle course in the pdf version to be fairer. I'll put it up. I think they're too big to just overlay a piece of paper, too. At least, larger than standard 8.5 X 11 page.
I guess I could just cut out and color the shapes, and tell the players what the rest is verbally.

For the obstacle course, does that mean that 2 failures doesn't count as a success? At 0 and 1 check fails, they count as a success, and at 3 they get booted off by the force hand, but at 2 fails they get nothing?
Also, what is the sleight of hand check indicative of? The others are pretty easy to imagine in an obstacle course; that one is stumping me, though.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
